The Association on American Indian Affairs (AAIA) is looking for interested grant writers to respond to its request for proposals by February 4. AAIA seeks an experienced grant writer to provide expertise and assist in the continued development and sustainability of AAIA. The grant writer is expected to have experience working with tribal government, Indian Country and foundation grant writing.
The grant writer will develop grant proposals to fund projects and support the development of written reports as part of the grant deliverables. Other duties will be to update grants projections in AAIA’s database and develop a listing of grant resources that are relevant for the areas of grant funding. The grant writer will also be expected to present periodic reports as required by the executive team, board of directors and funders.
This is not a permanent full-time employment position. The grant writer will be a contracted position for a term to be agreed on by the parties. Preference will be given to grant writers who can work on-site at AAIA’s office in Rockville, Maryland.
AAIA is the oldest nonprofit serving Indian Country. They’re dedicated to protecting sovereignty, preserving culture, educating youth and building capacity.
Complete proposals are due by 5 p.m. EST on February 4. It is estimated that a decision on the winning proposal and the grant writer involved will be on February 25.
